Eustace Phenackertiban Add-On Package? Does that mean that you must already own ChrisPC VideoTube Downloader to use this offer? That would make it pretty much valueless to those who don't own ChrisPC VideoTube Downloader. Just sayin'...

Daniel Hauser Ever since YouTube limited the download of certain qualities to the dash format, I've been using this software. While I haven't really needed the additional functionality this add-on package provides - the freeware is plenty enough for the occasional video download from YT - I'm happy to see it here on BitsDuJour!

Brenda Gann When I went to download ChrisPC Free VideoTube Downloader version 5.70 from the company site, I was told by McAfee that it removed a Trojan. The installer said Runtime error (at 158:27): Could not call proc.

Looking for software that will catalog what I download so I don't download more than once.

Ralph Bressler I took advantage of this offer AND paid for the video converter option. I STILL have not gotten a key code! The e-mail says it should be sent in 12 to 24 hours. How can a company justify not sending out a code IMMEDIATELY? These kinds of things make me wonder about dealing with such a company!

adamsdaddy I received the email in less than a minute. The installation instructions on Bitsdujour were missing one minor step which is that you must first click on More Settings to be able to select About Add on tab. Easy enough to deduce but thought I'd share.

Thanks again!

Joe Stephens I also found that the download process tried to put a TROJAN on my computer!
Luckily Fix-it caught the file and deleted it for me, but this is really not a good thing.

BitsduJour needs to be certain they are not infecting users' computers when they offer these deals!!

Steve Carona Firstly ... Thank you (I hope - if no Trojans).

Do you need to Activate the Add-On Pack? (When installed from download link?) or is it pre-activated? Fine print says license activation not required. I was able to download a long 45minute 720p YT vid OK.

Regardless - I did Activate. Had to look ...
More Settings About Add-On Package (Tab)
User Name : (as per Purchased By on email)
Serial: (as per email)

1. WebSite 5.7 Download - 3.1MB
2. Link 5.7 Download (as per BDJ and email) - 10.4MB
Please explain the difference / large Installer. Is the Add-On Pack just an Activation or separate Install?
(Unpacked Installed dir 5MB)

2. Scanned OK with BitDefender and MalwareBytes.
1. Scanned OK with MalwareBytes but BitDefender complained of 2 (of 28) passworded objects (which it could not scan).

Constantin Florea @Steve Carona - the installer from the receipt email is free of any adware/spyware/toolbars etc and is bigger because it has the additional required files included whereas the installer from the product site downloads the additional files during the installation process. For every BitsDuJour promotion you should always use the installer from the receipt email.

Steve Carona @Constantin Florea ....

But my email/BDJ Link Installler had a different SHA-256 Hash than the Virus Scan you refer to.

Scanned OK with with BitDefender and MalwareBytes despite it's larger size than Website download (which did have scanning isssues as per previous post).

Thomas Craig Hey hope you guys know about this stuff on Chris addon package..stay away from this garbage and if you installed it get rid of it and find the virus it installed.

I downloaded it and scanned with ESET Security Suite here is what you get...
C:\opbox\Downloads\setup_chrispc_free_anonymous_proxy_4_20.exe » INNO

» {app}\ChrisPC Proxy.exe » UPX v13_m8 - probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus

C:\opbox\Downloads\setup_chrispc_free_anonymous_proxy_4_20.exe » INNO » script_decompiled.pas - Win32/Somoto.E potentially unwanted application

G W This could have been a good thing to have if it were not for;

1. Needing to install it NOW during the promotion, what if I do a system refresh/rebuild which I do from to time, that means I lose the tools add-on, so really pointless having it.

2. Regardless of where I download it from Avira is still picking up a virus when I try and install it.

Bits du Jour needs to sort these issues out BEFORE they make them available on their site. If they have a virus/trojan then do not subject your visitors to those viruses. The author saying to download from another source just makes them look even more silly, I mean why is the download link from their site with a virus and the other supposedly not (still does).

If you want to promote your software on Bits Du jour do not limit it to install only while the promotion is active - what a waste.

Another pointless BDJ promotion.

Stephen Brown It's probably too late now ., but, just in case you manage to answer this before the time is up; how do you register the add-on if you are using win 8? I don't know how to find the programs list to be able to register it? As you know there's no Start menu in Win 8.

I've tried looking on Google, but I'm so tired that I can't concentrate properly. I'll check back before 8am (If i manage to wake up)
:)

Thomas Craig Well ESET Security Suite is #1 virus scanner/firewall ...well depending on who you ask. ESET NOD32® Antivirus - ESET.com? - private
www.eset.com/NOD32-Antivirus?
PCMag's #1 Consumer Recommended Purchase

I know I won't go online without it and I sure wouldn't use someones virus scanner who knowingly offers virus infected software.

Also, someone asked the same question in Chris's forum and he/she knows all about the virus in their software. They blame it on the addons in the software.

So Chris, says don't enable the addons when you install, this software and that way you won't get the virus.

Oh well I only wanted the proxy and a $10 proxy that is offered free to begin with:) I can pass.

Keep up the great work Bitsdujour not unhappy just happy I scan everything before install and only trust ESET (Nod 32)

Eustace Phenackertiban "You must install/register the software while the promotion is active, and cannot do so afterwards."

This is a non-starter, and is unlike BDJ. Should have offered it over on GiveAwayoftheDay, where this is the norm. I don't expect this kind of thing here. Think I'll pass...

mix624 I used my registration link and it is still only the freeversion.
Why are you wasting my time ? With this Youtube Downloader and Aneesoft YouTube Converter/Downloader ? I didnt even get Aneesoft YouTube Converter last time. Now it is being offered again after a faulty non functioning add on.

Registration doesnt upgrade. Hmm....been having some bad experiences with Bitsdujour now... Had a lot of good ones before...Hope this will not continue...

Constantin Florea @judi bunner - All promotions in which you've participated, are showing up in your profile (under the Purchases left menu option) and they have a Resent Receipt button attached. You can use these buttons to have the receipt emails for those products resent to your email address.

Below this list there are product icons (box shots) labeled as PURCHASED but this label only means that you have pressed the Get It For Free button (or the Buy Now button) when the product was on promotion. It doesn't mean that you went all the way with the purchase.

Nico Westerdale @judi bunner - Please understand that Constantin was simply providing you some information for you about how we run things here, and we will continue to do our best to resolve your issue. We neither think or have implied that you are stupid.

We've both checked your profile and the purchase does not appear in the 100% Off promotion list on your purchases, this is what Constantin was referring to.

This type of issue is probably better resolved on email, could you please send all possible email addresses you may have purchased under to us here:
http://www.bitsdujour.com/contact

That will be the fastest way for us to resolve your problem.
