Michael R. Just downloaded and tried the trial. Worked fine to my test-stream sites, at which a former try of another downloader failed.

Is would be nice to define a priority of the streans which are inside the download-queue. E.g. if there are 5 streams waiting in the queue and I found a very important one, I would need to remove all 5 from the waiting-queue, so that my important one would be the first in the line. I checked for a feature to move a task upwards or downwards, but I could not find one. I think, this would be a useful (and not too hard to implement feature. Is it intended, to implement something like this in a next update?

I found no info about free upgrades/updates in the fine print. The last version of v3 was v3.2.0.6. Now the current version is v4.2.6.2. So is v5 about to released anytime soon. And if yes, will it be free for today's buyers?

Bani Harms Thanks for quick reply. Program works very well for me :-). Even the sound works fine. Tried a couple of programs and quite often the sound is not very good.

Michael R. Found the 1yr-update information in the meantime.

But no answer to my main question/feature-request: So, here it is again:

It would be nice to define a priority of the streans which are inside the download-queue. E.g. if there are 5 streams waiting in the queue and I found a very important one, I would need to remove all 5 from the waiting-queue, so that my important one would be the first in the line. HKP Can I alter the settings of the software to stop downloading the contents of the visited website automatically and can I get instead of this a pop-up where I can choose the file which I want to download?

Thanks in advance for your response.

VSO Software Hi you can "blacklist" a website so that the content is not downloaded. Also you can select to have the videos detected automatically and downloaded automatically, or just detected, so they will be listed in the software but you only press "download" on the ones you want.

Bill Wallace Just bought this and the very first attempt to download a video doesn't work. It doesn't auto detect that the video is playing nor does pasting the video url into the app see to work. Probably should have tried it before buying.

VSO Software Hi
can you give me the link for this kind of video so we can try ?

Stefan Hauber @Annelise: Just go to the site and click any Image => A page is opened showing a stream. VSO-Downloader recognizes it, but stops quite immediately with a red error-bar.

HKP Thank you for your good advice, Bill Wallace. I intended to purchase this software too today. After reading your comment, I decided to try the trial first and this really guarded me from harm.

1. I got no choice of the destination folder. This alone is already a no-go.
2. I tried to download wanted files with four browsers. The software failed totally.

I tried the download with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera. Wanted videos were not recognized. The VSO Downloader was only able to download the little tutorial from VSO and unwanted advertisement clips. One wanted video was recognized, for the moment, but even this download attempt failed. I finally got the message “protocol is not supported."

I’m very disappointed about the VSO Downloader. VSO should learn first that nowadays customers don’t allow programs to use the system partition for storing everything. And second VSO should turn this beta version into useful software. There will be still a lot of work to do.

Bill Wallace HKP - I think you are able to change the download folder, at least it appears you can as mine is set to: C:\Users\Bill\Documents\VSO Downloader\

Really a moot point if the software doesn't work though. Good luck to you.

HKP Thanks for your efforts, Bill Wallace, however, I'm afraid that you misunderstood what I wrote: Your described path is exactly the preset path of the software which cannot be altered. I store my own data consistently outside the system partition C. My system partition contains the OS Windows and the installed programs only. For my own data, I'm using other partitions. Most of them are located on external storage devices.

Nevertheless, it was nice to hear from you. So I know that this software failed to work not only for me. Have a nice week!

Bill Wallace HKP - thank you. I was able to modify that path and save a file to a thumbdrive so I would assume you could save it to any network share that could keep up with the throughput. Currently my path is set to: M:\USBThumbdrive\VSO_FILES\ and it was writing MP4 files. I wonder if you are experiencing a limitation of the trial version?

Anyway - good luck and have a great week!

John H The trial version only records from the computers camera. Does not record from any streaming source. I would buy if I could see this recording from an online source.

Joe User Seems to work well. How exactly does one set the rez of the DL file? I just tried a test, thought I was DL HD 1920 X 1018 but the result is actually 1280 X 720. Also there seems to be a limit of 3 minnits? I assume this goes away after buying the license.

VSO Software Hi
Yuo can delete any streams by doing a right click on it and select "remove". But no way to arrange the streams per order. I have requested this to the developper, thanks for your input

Joe, the downloader resolution will always by the largest one (for example a youtube video, if you have 1080p and 420p available, VSO Downloader will extract the 1080p resolution.
The limitation goes away after activation you are right :)
Hope it helped!
